SUJAWAL: The rift between teachers of Government Boys High School Mureed Khoso, its headmaster and the District Education Officer (DEO) Secondary Sujawal has reached its peak amid the suspension of four Junior Elementary School Teachers by the Directorate of School Education, Hyderabad Division.
The directorate suspended Kashif Ahmed Memon, Shiraz Mirbahar, Pawan Kumar and Ali Akber Khoso after conducting an internal departmental inquiry, vide order dated 13-10-2026.
The order has sparked resentment among teachers across Sujawal district, including those teaching at GBHS Mureed Khoso.
Rejecting the departmental proceedings and the subsequent order, teacher Ali Akber Khoso said they had been victimised by the school’s headmaster, Ghulam Qadir Ghurmani, and District Education Officer Shafi Muhammad Baran.
Narrating the suspended teachers’ version, he said they had lodged a complaint with the DEO regarding the alleged maltreatment meted out to them by the headmaster at the school, including threats of harsh consequences and of teaching them a lesson.
“Instead of taking action against the unruly headmaster, the teachers have been pushed against the wall,” said Khoso, adding that they would knock on every door to seek justice against the injustice done to them.
Another teacher, Kashif Memon, said that upon learning of his suspension, his father had gone into a state of shock and fallen ill. He further said that they had joined the education department to serve the nation, not to endure the harsh treatment of officers who had been imposed upon them.
“The headmaster was booked in an FIR for brutally assaulting a student at the same school in 1993,” alleged Shiraz Mirbahar. He said that such a short-tempered administrator could further tarnish not only the reputation of the school but also that of the teaching profession.
He urged the provincial education minister to intervene, take action against the headmaster and the DEO, and ensure justice for the affected teachers.
The headmaster and the district education officer denied all the allegations, claiming that the teachers had been suspended for professional negligence and for failing to attend school punctually and perform their duties properly.
