The war between Iran and the USA initiating on February 28bhas reached 100 days of its relentless conflict. It was ignited over Iran’s nuclear capabilities but over time it has witnessed various changed agendas ranging from demands to abandon uranium enrichment to joining Abraham accords. Donald Trump had inflicted vicious attacks on the Islamic regime of Iran.
Since the beginning of war, Iran has stood firm and remained undefeatable despite the joint strike of Israel and the USA. On the other hand, USA has come at the edge of falling. Donald Trump had certainly not thought Iran would be invincible in retaliation. Despite losing its key officials in war, Iran has stuck to its guns and continues to do so.
The US president has mainly favored negotiations as an ultimate end to the war. One of which was mediated by Pakistan that went into effect on April 8, 2026. On April 21, Donald Trump unilaterally extended the ceasefire to allow long-term stability and reopening of Strait of Hormuz. However, the current ceasefire is on the verge of collapse because of Israel’s reluctance to comply with the ceasefire.
The current scenario is obnoxious because both sides keep attacking each other while the ceasefire remains fragile.
While the war in the Middle East with the Western superpowers had bilateral retaliatory attacks but the consequences echoed globally. Iran’s momentous move to clos ‘the Strait of Hormuz that controls 40% of global oil passage has severely influenced global trade. The energy prices were risen by 20% to 50%, introducing severe inflationary pressures for import dependent economies. The conflict has disrupted agriculture and fertilizer shipments, increased food prices and raised concerned about global agriculture output. The consequences of the war are highly alarming, considering the danger it upholds upon everyone, even not involved in the war.
Furthermore, as The United States has persistently threatened Iran either to make a deal or undergo military attacks. Iran has chosen the subsequent one.
As per the recent updates after US AH-64 Apache helicopter valued between 126 million was shot down by Iranian Shahed-type drone. In response, US has carried out attacks on Iranian military and surveillance sites. Meanwhile, Israel continues attacking Hezbollah in Lebanon despite being the part of the ceasefire. In his recent interview, Netanyahu claimed that Iran and Hezbollah had jointly caused the destructions in Beirut and it is because of their presence that eventually compelled Israel to attack.
Once a war begins, it leaves behind virulent aftermath, some of which last for generations. Similar to the nuclear attack levied upon Japan, had generations long sideeffects where people are still reeling from the consequences. Likewise, the war in the middleeast had brought no pleasant outcomes but a surging death toll and the figure ascends drastically.
As a result of joint attacks of US and Israel and the retaliatory strikes by Iran had killed 3468 in Iran, 3371 dead in Lebanon and 28 killed in Gulf states. Whenever Iranian territory or its leaders are targeted, it strikes back on the US bases in Gulf states like Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar. Therefore, causing additional casualties in different sovereignties.
Since 28 February and at the initial stage of war, the victims were either aged between eight months, elderly people or the women. As the data shows among 26,500 injured people, 4000 were women and 1,621 were children. As we witnessed the US attack in a Primary Girl School, killing multiple minors in the beginning of the war.
In consequences, neither Iran nor America has any intention in keeping a slow pace. America wants to achieve its key objectives while Iran is not ready to give up, knowing that the war has already been dragged to lethal stage. Expecting an end to war in these intense situations is highly critical. If the current pace is maintained from each side, the Middle East will continue burning and the global impacts would be unpleasant.
