Three prisoners seek medical facilities similar to PTI founder

ISLAMABAD: Three prisoners have approached the court seeking medical facilities similar to those being provided to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.

The petitioners have challenged a decision of the Islamabad High Court concerning the provision of medical treatment and facilities to prisoners.

The Federal Constitutional Court has admitted the appeal for hearing and fixed it for September 14.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan will hear the matter. Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Ali Baqar Najafi are also part of the bench.

The petitioners have requested equal access to medical facilities during their imprisonment. They have referred to the medical arrangements available to the PTI founder while seeking similar treatment for other prisoners.

The case raises questions about equal access to healthcare for inmates and the responsibility of authorities to provide necessary medical treatment to prisoners.

The court will hear the arguments of the parties on September 14 and determine whether the relief sought by the petitioners can be granted under the law.
