Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, confirmed developments surrounding the talks but said Tehran could not yet confirm whether negotiations would take place on Friday. He explained that officials had planned a meeting until only a few hours earlier. However, after the signing of the memorandum, they decided to temporarily pause the scheduled session.
Baghaei added that Iranian authorities expect to make a final decision on Friday’s meeting within the next few hours. He also noted that delegations still plan to participate in the upcoming gathering in Geneva according to the existing schedule.
