UAE halts trade and financial dealings with Iran

The United Arab Emirates has suspended all trade exchanges, business dealings and financial transactions with Iran until further notice, amid growing tensions across the Middle East.

The decision was announced by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which said that economic and commercial transactions with Iran had been halted. The ministry did not immediately provide further details about the scope of the suspension or how long the restrictions would remain in place.

The announcement came shortly after the UAE Defense Ministry reported detecting two Iranian ballistic missiles targeting maritime navigation in the region. The development has added to concerns over the security of shipping routes and commercial activity in the Gulf.

Regional tensions have intensified following the escalation of the conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel. Iran has responded to attacks by launching strikes against targets in several countries in the region, including areas hosting US military assets.
