MANDI BAHAUDDIN: The University of Rasul uor has achieved a significant milestone after receiving a preliminary accreditation approval from the National Technology Council (NTC) for its engineering technology programmes, university officials said.
The accreditation process was carried out through a week-long evaluation visit by an NTC team, which reviewed the university’s academic, administrative and technical facilities. The assessment covered three major programmes: BSc Mechanical Engineering Technology, BSc Electrical Engineering Technology and BSc Civil Engineering Technology.
According to university officials, the visiting team examined academic curricula, laboratory facilities, faculty qualifications, library resources and quality assurance mechanisms. The evaluators also held meetings with students, teachers, administrative staff and representatives from industry to assess the effectiveness of the university’s academic system and its linkage with market needs.
The NTC team observed that the programmes were being offered in line with the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework, an internationally recognized model aimed at improving learning outcomes and professional competencies. The evaluators appreciated the university’s efforts to align its teaching standards with contemporary industry requirements.
Officials said the visiting delegation also expressed satisfaction over the university’s upgraded laboratories, modern learning environment and the availability of academic resources for students. Faculty members were commended for their professional expertise and commitment to maintaining educational standards.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zahoor Ul Haq, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, termed the accreditation a major achievement for the institution and said it reflected the collective efforts of faculty members, students and administrative staff. He said the university remained committed to providing quality education and producing graduates capable of meeting the challenges of modern industry.
The vice chancellor also acknowledged the role of Dean Prof Dr Abdul Majid and his team in steering the accreditation process and strengthening academic quality across the engineering technology departments.
University officials believe the accreditation will enhance the credibility of UoR’s engineering technology degrees and create better opportunities for graduates in both local and international job markets.
The development is being viewed as an important step for higher education in the region, as the University of Rasul continues its efforts to expand academic excellence and strengthen industry-oriented education in Punjab.
