What Makes a Great Teacher?

A teacher is more than someone who stands in front of a classroom and explains lessons. Teaching is not merely the transfer of information from one mind to another; it is the art of influencing lives. A teacher’s words, actions, attitude and relationships can influence students for years. A good teacher helps students to learn, grow, discover their abilities and become better individuals. However, becoming a truly great teacher requires much more than subject knowledge. It requires patience, empathy, adaptability, passion and a genuine commitment to the growth of every student.
A great teacher makes learning simple. Good teaching begins with clear communication. A teacher needs to explain ideas clearly so that students can understand them without unnecessary confusion.
