One of the first participants in the campaign, Ittehad Flour Mills in Ittehad Town, has already displayed banners at its Fair Price Stall, informing customers about the discounted flour prices. Residents can purchase a 10kg flour bag for Rs1,250 directly from the stall, making it an affordable option compared to prevailing market rates.

The decision to establish Fair Price Stalls was finalized during a meeting chaired by Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Pakistan Flour Mills Association and other industry representatives, who agreed to launch the citywide initiative in collaboration with local authorities.

According to the agreement, participating flour mills will sell flour through Fair Price Stalls at a fixed rate of Rs.125 per kilogram. The initiative is intended to ensure that consumers have access to quality flour at transparent and controlled prices while reducing pressure on household budgets.

Food inflation has remained a major concern for families across Pakistan, making affordable access to staple food items increasingly important. By introducing Fair Price Stalls, flour mill owners aim to provide immediate financial relief while improving the availability of flour in key urban areas.
