Karachi: Pakistani singer Aima Baig has brought back her popular track Sajna Door with a spontaneous new rendition thanking fans for continuing to support the song years after its original release.

The singer shared a short performance on Instagram explaining that she wanted to show her appreciation to listeners who had helped keep the track popular.

Baig said she decided to record the version without an instrument because none was immediately available. Rather than wait for a proper musical setup she chose to share an informal performance with her followers.

In her Instagram caption she expressed gratitude to fans for keeping the song relevant long after its release and described the recording as a quick spontaneous musical moment.

She also hinted at an upcoming live session telling followers that she planned to go live so they could sing the track together. The singer encouraged fans to enjoy the performance and jokingly asked them to overlook the metronome audible in the background.

Originally featured on the soundtrack of the 2018 Pakistani romantic action-comedy Teefa in Trouble, Sajna Door was performed by Aima Baig and singer-songwriter Ali Zafar.

The song gained attention for its soft romantic melody and combination of Urdu, Punjabi and English lyrics. Its music video directed by Ahsan Rahim featured Ali Zafar and Maya Ali in a romantic sequence that included scenes of the pair dancing on water.

Baig’s latest performance has renewed interest in the track while highlighting the lasting connection between the singer and her audience. Her suggestion of a live singalong has also created anticipation among fans who want to hear the song performed again.

Separately the singer is reportedly working on her debut album, Guriya which has been described as a tribute to her late mother.
