Anne Hathaway hilariously reacts to her 2004 fashion look

Anne Hathaway took a light-hearted trip down memory lane while promoting her upcoming psychological thriller Verity with co-star Dakota Johnson.

During an interview with Betches, the actresses were shown a photograph of Hathaway from the 2004 premiere of Ella Enchanted. The throwback look immediately left the actress laughing as she revisited one of her most memorable early-2000s fashion choices.

Hathaway had attended the premiere wearing a bright pink, knee-length floral dress paired with wide-leg blue jeans. She completed the outfit with an open, long-sleeved coat, reflecting one of the distinctive fashion trends of that era.

After seeing the picture, Hathaway jokingly asked Johnson for her opinion on the outfit. Johnson admitted she had also experimented with similar styles and therefore could not criticise her co-star’s fashion choice.

Hathaway then explained that she was working with a stylist at the time but appeared to suggest that she had a major role in choosing the look.

Johnson defended the throwback outfit, saying she still stood by it. Hathaway responded with another playful remark, keeping the exchange humorous.

The actresses are currently promoting Verity, a psychological thriller based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel. The film features Hathaway and Johnson in leading roles and is scheduled for release on October 2.
