Apple to launch iPhone 18 series and first foldable iPhone

Although numerous companies manufacture smartphones, Apple’s iPhones are considered among the most popular and highly anticipated devices. That is why people around the world eagerly wait for the launch of new iPhone models every year.

This year, the iPhone 18 series is expected to be unveiled on September 9 and Apple has now announced the date of its launch event. Along with the iPhone 18 series, the company is also expected to introduce the Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra, HomePod mini, iPod and Apple TV at the event.

Major change in Apple’s iPhone launch strategy

An important development this year is that Apple is reportedly changing the way it launches new iPhones. According to various leaks, the event could see Apple introduce its first foldable smartphone reportedly called the iPhone Ultra alongside the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

However, the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 are expected to be launched in early 2027. The foldable iPhone is expected to be Apple’s most expensive iPhone with its price potentially exceeding $2,000.

Similarly, according to a report by Bloomberg, Apple is expected to increase the prices of the iPhone 18 Pro series. Last year, Apple avoided increasing the prices of the iPhone 17 series.

It is still difficult to say exactly how much Apple will increase the prices but according to the report, the increase could be around $100. This means the iPhone 18 Pro could start at $1,199 instead of $1,099. The report said the price increase could be due to rising costs of RAM and other chips.
