Earlier, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan had also condemned Aleema Khan’s arrest and called for her immediate release. He said he had received a telephone call from Noorain Niazi, who informed him about Aleema Khan’s detention.
Barrister Gohar reiterated the party’s position that its planned march would remain peaceful and political. He said PTI wanted to pursue its constitutional and political demands through peaceful means rather than confrontation.
The PTI leadership has continued to stress that its political activities are aimed at raising its demands through constitutional and democratic channels. The arrest of Aleema Khan has nevertheless drawn criticism from senior party figures, who have called for her release.
