Speaking to the media after the defeat Babar Azam said he did not believe Pakistan needed an additional spinner for the match. According to the Pakistan captain the pitch had a significant amount of grass, which influenced the team’s decision to play three fast bowlers and one all-rounder.

Babar explained that the playing conditions appeared more suitable for pace bowling, prompting Pakistan to strengthen its fast-bowling attack rather than include another specialist spinner. He also acknowledged that the team needs to accept its mistakes and learn from them going forward.

“We have to accept our mistakes and learn from them,” Babar said, stressing the importance of improving as a team after a disappointing series.

The captain also praised Razaullah for his batting performance. Babar said the entire Pakistan team enjoyed watching his innings. He admitted that he did not know much about Razaullah before the match, apart from hearing that the batter had scored a first-class century.

England secured an eight-wicket victory in the third Test after Pakistan set the hosts a target of 130 runs. England chased down the target with only two wickets lost. Joe Root played a key role with an unbeaten 62, while Jordan Cox remained unbeaten on 59.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Abbas was the only bowler to make an impact in England’s chase, taking both wickets.

Dan Lawrence was named Player of the Match for his performance in the third Test. Mohammad Abbas and Ollie Robinson shared the Player of the Series award.

The result completed a 3-0 series victory for England and marked a historic moment, as England recorded their first Test series whitewash against Pakistan on home soil.

The defeat will raise further questions about Pakistan’s Test performance and team selection, while Babar Azam and his players will now have to focus on learning from the mistakes made during the series.
