MIRANSHAH: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Bannu has postponed several papers of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual-II and Oriental Languages examinations scheduled for October 7 to 10.
The decision was taken in view of the prevailing security situation and the suspension of mobile phone and internet services across areas falling within the board’s jurisdiction.
According to the notification, the communication restrictions could create difficulties for students, parents, teachers and examination officials. The suspension could affect the timely delivery and exchange of roll numbers, duty letters and other examination-related information.
The board also noted that the disruption could create problems in transporting examination material to designated examination centres. Officials feared that these challenges could affect the smooth and transparent conduct of the examinations.
The BISE Bannu chairman, who is the competent authority, therefore approved the postponement of the papers scheduled for October 7, 8, 9 and 10.
The board clarified that the remaining SSC Annual-II and Oriental Languages papers would be held according to the previously issued date sheet. Only the affected examinations have been postponed.
The postponed papers will be conducted later, while a revised timetable will be announced separately by the board. Students and examination staff have been advised to wait for the new schedule before making arrangements for the affected papers.
The board has also directed educational institutions, examination staff and other relevant stakeholders to immediately communicate the decision to candidates and ensure that students are informed about the revised schedule once it is issued.
