Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl has returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, adding another week to the album’s impressive chart run. The record moved 173,000 equivalent album units during the latest tracking week, bringing its total number of weeks at the top of the chart to 13.
The latest achievement comes shortly after the release of The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, an expanded version of the album that includes four additional songs. The new edition has created another wave of interest in Swift’s music and helped push the original album back to the top of the Billboard 200.
The Encore also made a strong impact on Spotify. The expanded album collected 40.5 million global streams during its first 24 hours, making it the biggest deluxe-album debut in Spotify history. The result highlights the continued demand for Swift’s music nearly a year after the original album was released.
The original The Life of a Showgirl had already made history with its massive debut. The album opened with 4.002 million equivalent album units in the United States. That total included 3,479,500 pure album sales and around 680.9 million streams.
Its first-week performance became the biggest single-week consumption total in Billboard 200 history at the time. The album’s huge opening immediately established it as one of the biggest releases of Swift’s career and gave the singer another major milestone on the chart.
For the new material, Swift reunited with longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback. The additional songs were created after Swift traveled to Sweden around a year after the original album’s release.
Among the four new tracks, “Patient Zero” has received the biggest visual push. The song’s music video stars Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell and includes several dramatic scenes. The video features underwater sequences, a bathroom scene and a snowy cemetery.
The “Patient Zero” video also received a high-profile premiere at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, giving the new song additional attention from fans and viewers around the world.
The four new songs also performed strongly on Spotify. Each track entered the platform’s Daily Global Top Four, showing the level of interest surrounding the expanded edition.
“Patient Zero” led the group with 13.709 million streams during its first day. The result gave Swift the biggest Spotify song debut of 2026 by a female artist. It came close to BTS’ “Swim,” which opened with approximately 14 million streams.
While Swift continues to dominate the top of the Billboard 200, Tinashe is also celebrating an important career milestone. Her album Popstar debuted at No. 6 with 35,500 equivalent album units, giving the singer her first-ever Billboard 200 top 10 entry.
The achievement marks a major change from the chart results of Tinashe’s earlier albums. Her previous career-best position came with Aquarius, released in 2014. The album debuted and peaked at No. 17 after selling approximately 18,800 copies during its first week.
Tinashe later released several more projects, but they did not reach the same chart position. Nightride reached No. 89 in 2016, while Joyride peaked at No. 58 in 2018.
Her 2019 album Songs for You reached No. 147 on the Billboard 200. She followed it with 333 in 2021, which reached No. 175. Her 2024 album Quantum Baby peaked at No. 199.
Tinashe’s BB/Ang3l did not enter the Billboard 200, although it performed better on another chart, reaching No. 32 on Top Album Sales.
With Popstar, Tinashe has now achieved her highest Billboard 200 position to date. The No. 6 debut also gives her first top 10 album on the chart, making the release an important moment in her career.
Meanwhile, Swift’s return to No. 1 shows the lasting impact of The Life of a Showgirl. The combination of the album’s original success, the expanded edition and the strong performance of its new songs has kept Swift at the center of the music charts.
