CDA reviews C-14, Sangjani projects

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad on Tuesday visited Sector C-14 and Sangjani Interchange to inspect ongoing development work and review construction progress, quality standards and project timelines.

Senior officials from CDA and the Islamabad administration accompanied the chairman during the visit, including the Member Building, Member Estate, Member Administration, Director General Works, Director General Infrastructure, Chief Officer MCI and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad.

During the inspection of Sector C-14, officials briefed the chairman that the sector’s basic infrastructure has reached completion, while electricity-related work is now in its final stage.

Authorities have completed the installation of light poles along the sector’s major roads. Workers have also installed signboards on main roads and streets to improve navigation for residents and visitors. Meanwhile, landscaping and horticulture work continues along the main roads as CDA works to improve the overall appearance and environment of the sector.

A major development in C-14 is the start of the plot possession process. CDA has begun handing over possession of developed plots to allottees following the completion of key development works. Officials said they are also processing the remaining cases to facilitate allottees and prevent unnecessary delays.

The chairman directed the concerned officers to complete all outstanding development and technical work on a priority basis. He also ordered officials to remove administrative hurdles quickly so that eligible allottees can receive possession of their plots without further delay.

He stressed that meeting Islamabad’s residential needs remains one of CDA’s key priorities. He said the authority must give equal attention to the development of residential sectors while continuing work on major infrastructure projects across the capital.

The chairman later visited Sangjani Interchange, where he inspected various components of the ongoing construction project. Officials briefed him on the current progress and the expected completion timeline.

The chairman instructed the relevant departments to accelerate construction and ensure that the project remains on schedule. He also emphasized the need for continuous field inspections to maintain construction standards and address technical issues promptly.

He directed officers to improve coordination between departments and resolve any problems that could affect the project timeline.

The CDA chairman said timely completion, quality construction, sustainability and improved public facilities should remain central to all development projects.

He reiterated that Islamabad’s development is an ongoing process and said CDA would continue using available resources to improve infrastructure, residential facilities and civic services.

He also directed officials to maintain regular monitoring of development projects and ensure that citizens receive the benefits of completed schemes without unnecessary administrative delays.
