SAHIWAL: A seven-day photography exhibition titled “Colors of Pakistan”, featuring the work of renowned Sahiwal-based photographer Syed Usman, was organised by the Punjab Council of the Arts, Sahiwal Division, as part of the Independence Day celebrations from August 13 to 20. The exhibition showcases Pakistan’s scenic valleys, lush landscapes, majestic mountains, rivers and picturesque locations from different regions of the country.
Additional Commissioner Coordination Sahiwal, Dr Saifullah Bhatti, along with his mother Ms Neelam Shoaib, attended the event as chief guests. Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Muhammad Ijaz, Co-founder of Agriculture Republic Aamer Hayat Bhandara, Director Public Relations Department Sahiwal Division Tariq Ismael Khan and Principal GCT(W) TEVTA Ms. Sajida Noreen were also present on this occasion.
The chief guest, Dr Saifullah Bhatti, appreciated the exhibition’s portrayal of Pakistan’s natural beauty. He said the country’s rich natural, cultural and historical heritage should be highlighted through photography to strengthen national identity and inspire younger generations to love their homeland and explore its diverse beauty. He also appreciated the efforts of Sahiwal Arts Council to organize this event.
Climate activist and Co-founder of Agriculture Republic Aamer Hayat Bhandara praised Syed Usman’s work, observing that photography reflects the artist’s perspective while allowing viewers to discover multiple dimensions within an image. He said such artists promote Pakistan’s natural beauty while highlighting the cultural and environmental diversity of their native regions.
Syed Usman is a Pakistani landscape and nature photographer known for capturing the diverse beauty of the country’s mountains, valleys, lakes, rivers and scenic landscapes. Hailing from a small village near Chichawatni, Sahiwal, he draws creative inspiration from nature, poetry, literature and visual arts, seeking to capture not only the beauty but also the spirit of his surroundings. His work has been showcased on national and international platforms, including the United Nations website, Environment Protection Department, Government of Punjab, WWF-Pakistan’s photography exhibition in Lahore, and the “Colors of Pakistan” exhibition at the Arts Council, Sahiwal. Alongside photography, he works as a freelancer and teacher in the fields of IT and digital marketing.
