Dar, Kyrgyz FM explore trade and investment

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held talks with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev in Bishkek on Wednesday, focusing on bilateral relations, regional developments and cooperation at international forums.

During the meeting, Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its partnership with Kyrgyzstan. He highlighted trade, investment, energy, connectivity and regional security as key areas for expanded cooperation.

The two sides also discussed ways to increase people-to-people contacts and strengthen engagement between the two countries.

Kulubaev congratulated Pakistan on assuming the chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of State for 2026–27.

The Kyrgyz foreign minister expressed confidence that Pakistan would play an effective role in advancing the SCO’s agenda during its chairmanship.

He also emphasised the importance Kyrgyzstan attaches to its longstanding and friendly relations with Pakistan. He expressed his country’s readiness to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Dar and Kulubaev exchanged views on regional and international issues during the meeting. They agreed to maintain close coordination on matters of common concern.

Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to working together through the SCO and other multilateral platforms.

The two ministers agreed that continued diplomatic coordination would help promote peace, regional stability and shared prosperity.
