Djokovic secured his 106th Wimbledon victory after defeating qualifier Roman Safiullin in four sets, 6-7, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 to book his place in the quarter-finals.
The 39-year-old has now moved ahead of Federer who finished his Wimbledon career with 105 match wins. Across both men’s and women’s singles, only Martina Navratilova has more victories at the All England Club with 120.
Djokovic is now chasing a record eighth Wimbledon title and a 25th Grand Slam singles crown. A potential semi-final clash with world No. 1 Jannik Sinner could await him later in the tournament.
