According to reports, the 36-year-old injured his wrist after falling while jumping over advertising boards during the post-match celebrations. He was later taken off the field on a stretcher and transferred to hospital for further evaluation.
England head coach Thomas Tuchel described the injury as worrying saying initial medical assessments suggest it could be serious.
“Early examinations indicate that the injury is significant,” Tuchel said adding that Henderson is currently under the care of doctors.
Henderson has had limited playing time at the 2026 World Cup featuring only briefly in England’s group-stage match against Panama.
