British pop star Dua Lipa is in advanced talks to headline the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California next year, according to a report published on Tuesday.

The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column quoted an unnamed source as saying Lipa had previously discussed performing at Coachella in 2023 but ultimately appeared at Britain’s Glastonbury Festival instead.

“Now, after a huge worldwide stadium tour, Coachella bosses have pulled out all the stops to get her to headline,” the source said, adding that the performances would mark the start of a new phase in her career.

The report also said talks with South Korean boy band BTS about a possible appearance at Coachella had ended without an agreement.

“BTS were in early talks for Coachella, but it all fizzled out quite quickly,” the source said, adding that the group wanted to focus on its own tour.

Neither Lipa’s participation nor BTS’s reported discussions had been confirmed by festival organisers in the information available for this report.

Lipa is also expected to release her fourth studio album next year, according to media reports, with a stadium tour reportedly planned to accompany it. Her latest album, Radical Optimism, was released in 2024.

Coachella will take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, over two weekends: April 9-11 and April 16-18, 2027. Organisers have not yet announced the festival’s lineup.
