Electricity prices raised by Rs0.52 per unit nationwide

Electricity prices have been increased by Rs0.52 per unit across the country, placing an additional burden of more than Rs12.67 billion on consumers.

ISLAMABAD: Electricity prices have been increased by Rs0.52 per unit across the country, placing an additional burden of more than Rs12.67 billion on consumers.

According to a notification issued by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), the increase has been made under the quarterly tariff adjustment for the second quarter of the current year.

Consumers will pay the additional amount through their electricity bills for September, October and November.

The notification stated that the Rs0.52 per unit increase would be recovered every month for three months.

The adjustment will apply to electricity consumers across the country, including those served by K-Electric.

NEPRA had earlier approved the quarterly adjustment. The notification was issued after approval from the federal government.
