Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas has strongly criticised the government, saying that the system has been flawed since its inception and that its very foundation was laid incorrectly.

In a statement, Raja Nasir Abbas said the government had imposed an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) while openly telling the public that it did not recognise the people’s mandate.

He said the final date for the proposed All Parties Conference (APC) would be decided by a committee after consultations. He added that Kamran Murtaza, Nasir Shirazi and Salman Akram Raja would be members of the committee.

According to Raja Nasir Abbas, Aamir Dogar and Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar would also be part of the committee. He said Ikhwan Zada Hussain Yousafzai and Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry would serve as coordinators for the APC.

The Senate opposition leader also expressed serious concerns about the health of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, warning that his condition was at risk. He alleged that the government had crossed every red line and said Imran Khan’s blood pressure was not returning to normal, describing the situation as deeply distressing.

Meanwhile, National Assembly Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai said the opposition was making efforts to ensure that all national policies were formulated through parliament.

Separately, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said there were growing reasons to believe that everything was not well regarding Imran Khan’s health. He said the situation had created certainty rather than mere suspicion about concerns surrounding the former prime minister’s medical condition.

Raja described the proposed APC as the first step towards building national consensus. He said PTI and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) would sit together, while the committee would determine the future course of action.

He added that political and other influential forces across the country would be invited to join the initiative and work towards protecting the Constitution.

The proposed conference is being viewed by the opposition as an effort to bring political forces together on constitutional issues and develop a joint strategy for addressing the country’s political challenges.
