Unlike previous World Cups that featured a single grand opening ceremony, the 2026 edition will launch with interconnected celebrations in Mexico, Canada and the United States, reflecting the unique nature of the first-ever 48-team tournament jointly hosted by three countries.

Mexico to Launch World Cup Festivities

The first ceremony will take place in Mexico City on June 11 ahead of the tournament’s opening match between Mexico National Football Team and South Africa National Football Team.

For fans in Pakistan, the ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time, while kickoff is set for 12:00 AM on June 12.

Mexico’s showcase is expected to celebrate the country’s deep cultural roots, blending traditional and modern artistic expressions. Organizers say the Canadian ceremony will focus on the theme of a “cultural mosaic,” highlighting the country’s multicultural identity through music, dance, storytelling and visual arts.

Pakistani fans will need to stay awake late, as the ceremony is scheduled to begin at 4:30 AM on June 13, followed by kickoff at 6:00 AM.

The American segment is expected to be the most technologically ambitious, featuring immersive storytelling, spectacular visual effects and large-scale stage productions.

Among the major stars expected to perform are Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, Rema and Tyla.
