A preliminary post-mortem report of a 17-year-old girl who died at DHQ Hospital Jhang has found no signs of sexual assault or physical violence, officials said.
The report states that the girl died while unconscious. It also confirms that she was a diabetic patient and had been using insulin for the past five years.
Medical samples have been sent to Lahore for detailed forensic analysis. Authorities say the final cause of death will be confirmed after further tests.
The victim, identified as Eshal Fatima, was a Grade 11 student and resident of Sultan Colony. She was found in a critical condition after being reported missing earlier.
According to the FIR lodged by her father, she left home on June 4 after being told she was going for shopping. She did not return afterward, and her mobile phone was later found switched off.
The family continued searching for her but could not trace her whereabouts. On June 7, they were informed that her condition had worsened and she had been admitted to a hospital.
By the time relatives reached the facility, she had already been shifted to DHQ Hospital Jhang, where she later passed away.
Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged kidnapping, including the main accused and two accomplices. A vehicle allegedly used in the incident has also been recovered.
Authorities are currently interrogating the suspects as part of the ongoing investigation.
Officials say the case is still under review, and forensic reports will play a key role in determining the exact circumstances of the girl’s death.
