Jhang: The preliminary post-mortem report of an 18-year-old girl who died during treatment at a hospital in Jhang has found no evidence of physical torture or sexual assault, authorities said on Wednesday.
The case came to light after unidentified individuals allegedly left the unconscious girl at a private hospital before fleeing the scene. She later succumbed while undergoing medical treatment.
According to hospital officials, the initial examination did not reveal signs of violence or sexual abuse. However, forensic samples have been sent to a laboratory in Lahore to determine the exact cause of death, and a final report is awaited.
The post-mortem findings further revealed that the teenager had been suffering from diabetes and had been dependent on insulin treatment for the past five years. Officials stated that she was already unconscious when she was brought to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.
Police confirmed that four suspects linked to the incident are currently in custody and are being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.
The victim’s father had earlier alleged that his daughter was abducted and subjected to sexual assault. Authorities say the investigation remains underway and further conclusions will depend on forensic analysis and additional evidence.
