The actress died at the age of 36 in Greenville, South Carolina, last month.

A source told TMZ that Panettiere allegedly took oxycodone that had been cut with fentanyl. Just a few grains of the powerful opioid, which is 50 times more potent than heroin, can cause a fatal overdose.

The mom-of-one had reportedly bought several black-market prescription drugs, including oxycodone, from a “long-time drug dealer” she had in Los Angeles, the outlet reported.

The star and her boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, had moved from Los Angeles to South Carolina one day before her death.

TMZ also reported that the actress took several drugs she had purchased in Los Angeles on the flight. Authorities allegedly believe the pill she took on the morning of her death was laced.

Brian administered Narcan, a medicine that quickly reverses an opioid overdose, to Hayden after finding her unconscious.

According to sources, police are now trying to identify the person who allegedly sold the pill to her.

Currently, no one has been arrested in connection with Hayden Panettiere’s death.

Detectives told the Daily Mail that they responded to an apartment block in Greenville after receiving a 911 call from an “acquaintance” of Hayden, who described her as unconscious.

In the forwarded audio of the call, a woman described Hayden Panettiere as suffering from a “cardiac arrest.”

The former child star was best known for her roles in the hit NBC series Heroes and the musical drama Nashville.
