An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has granted bail to lawyer Imaan Mazari and her husband, Hadi Ali, in a case registered against them over a clash with police.
ATC Judge Abual Hasanat Zulqarnain heard the case, during which the police presented the required record before the court.
The court approved the bail applications of both Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali against surety bonds of Rs5,000 each.
During the hearing, state counsel Riasat Ali informed the judge that the case record had been submitted to the court.
Addressing the counsel, Judge Abual Hasanat Zulqarnain remarked that he would have taken notice if the record had not been presented even on that day. He then asked whether the parties had anything further to say before announcing the decision to grant bail.
The judge subsequently approved bail for both accused.
It is worth mentioning that a case against Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali was registered at Kohsar Police Station over allegations of obstructing government officials from performing their duties.
The latest development comes after an Anti-Terrorism Court sentenced the two to 10 years in prison each in a separate case involving the removal of barriers and interference in official duties.
