Imran Khan requests monthly health checkups at Shaukat Khanum

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has approached the Islamabad High Court for regular medical checkups at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital. He asked the court to arrange the tests and examinations within three days.

He submitted the petition through Punjab Chief Minister’s aide, Saeed Afridi. Moreover, the petition names several officials, including the Secretary of Punjab Home Department, IG Prisons, Superintendent of Adiala Jail, Medical Superintendent, and Shaukat Khanum Hospital.

In the petition, Imran Khan requested that the court instruct authorities to allow him monthly medical tests at Shaukat Khanum. Additionally, he asked for complete access for medical teams to examine him thoroughly. He also requested permission for examinations based on his medical history and current health condition. Furthermore, he asked the court to direct that copies of medical reports be shared with his family and submitted to the court.

Imran Khan highlighted that he is a former Prime Minister. Consequently, he said that he faces several health problems. He claimed that the current government sentenced him due to political pressure. Therefore, he urged the court to ensure proper medical facilities for justice and fairness.

He emphasized that Shaukat Khanum Hospital provides advanced medical services. He also requested that the hospital offer care according to his health needs. Moreover, he stressed that timely checkups are crucial for maintaining his well-being.

The Islamabad High Court will now review the petition. Afterwards, the court will decide whether to approve the requested medical arrangements. PTI leaders said that the court should hear the matter urgently due to his health concerns. They added that proper care must remain a priority.

Legal experts noted that the court might instruct the medical team and jail authorities to provide transparent and detailed health reports. If the petition succeeds, Imran Khan will visit Shaukat Khanum regularly for health assessments.

Meanwhile, PTI supporters expressed hope that the court grants the petition soon. They argued that regular medical attention is vital, considering the former Prime Minister’s age and existing health issues.

This development comes amid ongoing political tension in Pakistan. Therefore, PTI leaders insisted that both political fairness and personal health should receive equal attention.
