Iran has announced that it carried out a series of strikes against American military facilities across the Middle East in response to recent US attacks on targets inside Iran.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it launched a drone attack on the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain and fired long-range missiles at Jordan’s Al-Azraq military base. Iranian officials claimed the operation targeted four strategic locations, including F-35 fighter jet hangars and command-and-control centers.
The IRGC also reported conducting drone strikes on the Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait. Iranian military leaders warned that any continuation of US military operations would prompt a stronger and more decisive response.
According to Iranian authorities, the attacks were retaliation for what they described as American aggression in southern Iran. Officials further claimed that recent US strikes damaged a telecommunications tower in Sirik and destroyed two water tanks. Iran also said it had shot down a US drone in Bushehr Province.
Meanwhile, air raid sirens reportedly sounded in Bahrain as authorities responded to the alleged threats. Bahraini officials later stated that their defense systems successfully intercepted and neutralized incoming targets. Kuwaiti military officials similarly announced that aerial threats had been destroyed before reaching their intended objectives.
The developments mark a significant escalation in tensions between Iran and the United States, increasing concerns about the risk of a wider conflict across the region. Independent verification of the claims made by either side remains unavailable.
