Kai Trump, the granddaughter of US President Donald Trump, has denied speculation that she is dating University of Miami football player Jake Weinberg, according to a media report on Wednesday.
A representative for the 19-year-old told celebrity news outlet TMZ that the pair were “just good friends”, according to a report published on November 4.
The rumours emerged in October after Trump and Weinberg were seen at the same restaurant in Palm Beach, Florida. Their presence at the same venue prompted speculation about a possible relationship, but there has been no public confirmation that they are dating.

Trump has previously spoken about the challenges of dating while under the protection of the US Secret Service. In an appearance on Logan Paul’s podcast, Impaulsive, in January, she said it could be awkward when agents sat close to her during dates.
“To be honest, it’s really awkward when you’re… going on a date with a guy and they’re two tables behind you. It’s a little weird,” she said.
She added that she had learned to focus on her own activities rather than the agents following her.
“I try my best to not let it bother me and I think I’ve learned, especially the past year now … to [know] yes, they’re following me, but also focus and pretend like they’re not there,” she said.
