According to police officials, the deceased was identified as Iqbal. His body was shifted to a nearby hospital for legal formalities and a post-mortem examination.
Preliminary investigations suggest that unknown gunmen entered or approached the victim’s residence and opened fire, killing him on the spot. At the time of the incident, the victim’s wife was also present inside the house. However, she remained unharmed during the attack.
Police said the suspects fled immediately after the shooting and reportedly took the spent bullet casing with them, apparently in an attempt to hinder the investigation and avoid leaving forensic evidence at the crime scene.
Law enforcement personnel reached the area shortly after receiving information about the incident and cordoned off the scene to collect evidence and record witness statements. Investigators are also questioning family members and local residents to gather further details about the attack.
Officials believe the killing appears to be linked to personal enmity, although all possible motives are being examined. No arrests have been made so far, and efforts are underway to identify and trace the suspects.
