King Charles receives special signed bat from Pakistan team

LONDON: Pakistan’s cricket team presented Britain’s King Charles III with a special signed cricket bat during a memorable meeting at Clarence House, adding a sporting touch to the team’s ongoing visit to the United Kingdom.

The Pakistan squad met King Charles at Clarence House, the historic London residence of the British royal family. The King spoke with members of the national team and team officials during the gathering, showing interest in the players and their cricketing journey.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi was also present at the meeting along with members of the squad and coaching and support staff.

As a gesture of goodwill, the Pakistan team presented King Charles with a specially prepared cricket bat carrying the signatures of the national players. Pakistan’s Test captain Babar Azam personally handed the bat to the King.

The presentation created a light and memorable moment during the royal meeting, with cricket serving as a bridge between the two countries.

King Charles also showed curiosity about the gift and asked PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi whether the bat had been made from Pakistani wood.

Naqvi explained that the bat was a gift from the Pakistan cricket team, highlighting the gesture as a symbol of goodwill and friendship.

The meeting came as Pakistan’s cricket team continues its tour of England, where the national side is preparing for the third Test of the series. The final Test is scheduled to be played at Edgbaston in Birmingham on September 9.

The royal interaction offered the players an opportunity to meet one of Britain’s most prominent figures away from the pressure of the cricket field. For the team, the presentation of the signed bat also provided a chance to showcase Pakistan’s cricketing tradition and strengthen cultural ties through the sport.
