King Charles III is reportedly backing a memorial service for Princess Diana that could provide an opportunity for his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, to reunite, according to reports cited by Page Six.
The proposed service would mark the 30th anniversary of Diana’s death in August 2027 and would be similar to a 2007 thanksgiving service held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of her death, according to the reports.
A source cited by the Daily Mail said the religious service could provide a way for the brothers to come together, with William potentially giving a reading and Harry also taking part.
Royal journalist Tom Sykes, however, told Page Six that a reunion between William and Harry was “just not gonna happen.”
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield, who commented on the brothers’ relationship last month, said William had “washed his hands of” Harry.
“He has his own family to protect and his responsibilities as Prince of Wales,” Schofield said. “The Sussexes’ presence will always generate noise and distraction.”
Harry has previously spoken publicly about wanting to repair relations with his family. In a May 2025 BBC interview, he said: “I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious.”
He added that he did not know “how much longer” his father would be around.
Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, returned to Britain in August with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, for an extended stay.
William and Harry have remained publicly estranged in recent years, although they have appeared at some of the same family events. They last attended the same event in 2024, at the funeral of their uncle Lord Robert Fellowes, according to reports.
