The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, approved several important decisions during its meeting.
According to officials, the cabinet approved a mechanism to transfer financial assistance directly into the personal bank accounts of eligible applicants.
The cabinet also approved the purchase of 54 additional buses for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system. Additional funds were approved to cover customs duties and taxes on the purchase of the new BRT buses.
The cabinet approved a procedure for auctioning the remaining timber from dry-standing trees and trees that had fallen due to strong winds.
It also approved the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Republic of Tajikistan.
The cabinet approved the presentation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority’s annual report for the 2024-25 financial year.
During the meeting, approval was also given for the establishment of a new tehsil named Umarzai in Charsadda.
The cabinet further approved an increase in the compensation package for Shaheed Maulana Mirza Jan of Wana to Rs10 million.
