Indian actor Saif Ali Khan has revealed that he is open to hosting a television show, saying the timing may now be right for him to take on the role.

MUMBAI: Indian actor Saif Ali Khan has revealed that he is open to hosting a television show, saying the timing may now be right for him to take on the role.

Khan said he had not rejected the idea of hosting a television programme and would welcome the opportunity, joining fellow Bollywood stars Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn in the space.

“I would love to host one. It is what we call a revenue stream,” Khan told Variety India.

The actor said he had received hosting offers in the past but turned them down because the timing or the concept did not appeal to him.

“Now, I think it might be the right time,” he said.

Khan also rejected the idea that working in television or streaming platforms represents “lesser work”, calling such an assumption outdated.

“That’s a very age-old conversation that I am supposed to be a mainstream theatrical actor. I never thought like that,” he said, adding that other actors may have different views.

Citing his experience on the Netflix series “Sacred Games” as an example, Khan said working in a different medium did not compromise the quality of a production.

He praised directors Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane and described the series as “a beautiful piece of film.”

Khan is also preparing for his upcoming film “Haiwaan”, in which he will star alongside Akshay Kumar. The project marks the pair’s on-screen reunion after years apart.

The actors previously appeared together in the 2008 action-comedy “Tashan”, alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan and Anil Kapoor. They have also shared the screen in films including “Main Khiladi Tu Anari”, “Yeh Dillagi” and “Aarzoo”.

The upcoming film reportedly centres on a cat-and-mouse dynamic. Khan plays a visually impaired man who is falsely implicated in a crime and forced to rely on his other senses to survive, while Kumar plays a vengeful psychopath pursuing him.

The supporting cast includes Saiyami Kher as a police officer, Boman Irani as a judge, as well as Shriya Pilgaonkar and Sharib Hashmi.

While Khan has not yet confirmed details of any television project, his comments suggest that he is now more open to exploring opportunities outside traditional theatrical cinema.
