Lahore: The Lahore Police and the Lahore Bar Association have agreed to establish a dedicated Police Khidmat Markaz at the Lahore Session Court to provide lawyers, litigants, and the public with easier access to essential police services under one roof.
The decision was made during a meeting at the Capital City Police Headquarters between Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana and an 11-member delegation of the Lahore Bar Association led by its President, Irfan Hayat Bajwa. Senior police officers, including DIG (Admin) Imran Kishwar, also attended the meeting, which focused on strengthening institutional coordination and discussing issues of mutual professional interest.
Speaking on the occasion, CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana said strong coordination between the police and the legal community is vital for upholding the rule of law, ensuring constitutional supremacy, and maintaining lasting peace in society. He said the proposed Police Khidmat Markaz at the Session Court would introduce a one-window service, making the delivery of police-related facilities more efficient and convenient for lawyers, litigants, and members of the public.
The meeting also agreed to improve day-to-day coordination by having the Lahore Bar Association nominate dedicated focal persons at the divisional level to facilitate swift communication and the timely resolution of issues.
Kamyana emphasized that the police and the legal fraternity share a common responsibility to uphold justice and respect for the law, adding that effective law enforcement requires close cooperation among the judiciary, lawyers, and police.
The Lahore Bar Association delegation welcomed the initiative and appreciated the Lahore Police’s efforts to combat crime and maintain law and order across the provincial capital.
