Maryam approves applications for Apni Chhat Apna Ghar scheme

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the opening of a new phase of applications for the provincial government’s Apni Chhat Apna Ghar housing scheme, allowing more eligible people to benefit from the initiative.

The decision was taken during an important meeting chaired by Maryam Nawaz in Lahore to review progress on the housing project and discuss its future expansion.

During the meeting, the chief minister was briefed on the scheme’s performance, including the number of registered applicants, completed houses and loans distributed to beneficiaries.

Officials informed the meeting that more than 1.7 million people had registered on the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar online portal, reflecting significant public interest in the housing initiative.

According to the briefing, construction of 128,718 houses had been completed under the scheme. Meanwhile, another 62,600 houses were progressing rapidly towards completion.

The meeting was also informed that 171,597 beneficiaries had received the second instalment of their loans to support the construction of their homes.

Officials further reported that loan instalments worth Rs22.29 billion had been recovered, while applicants had received loans amounting to Rs1.216 billion.

After reviewing the progress, Maryam Nawaz approved inviting fresh applications to extend the scheme’s benefits to more people across Punjab.

The Apni Chhat Apna Ghar programme is a provincial housing initiative aimed at helping eligible residents build their own homes through financial assistance and accessible housing loans.

The latest decision is expected to provide another opportunity for people seeking financial support to construct their houses under the government-backed programme.
