Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has paid tribute to the officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army, as well as the country’s martyrs and veterans, saying that Pakistan today stands stronger and its defence has become “invincible.”

In her message on Defence Day and to honour the martyrs of Pakistan, the chief minister said the nation would always remember and pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in defence of the country.

Maryam Nawaz said the Pakistan Army had demonstrated that wars were not won through weapons alone, but through faith, determination and conviction. She praised the courage and commitment of the armed forces and said their sacrifices had strengthened the country’s defence and security.

The Punjab chief minister saluted the officers and soldiers serving in the armed forces, particularly those who had laid down their lives for the country. She also paid tribute to the Ghazis, or veterans, who had served Pakistan with courage and dedication.

Referring to the ongoing fight against terrorism, Maryam Nawaz said the entire nation was praying for the safety and success of Pakistani soldiers engaged in operations against militants. She said the sacrifices of security personnel in the war against terrorism would not be forgotten.

She also highlighted the role of the armed forces in Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, saying the military had demonstrated a high level of professionalism during the operation and established new standards in counterterrorism and national security.

Maryam Nawaz said Pakistan’s armed forces had continued to confront security challenges with courage and professionalism, adding that the country’s defence was now stronger than ever.

She said the nation remained united behind its armed forces and would continue to honour the sacrifices of the martyrs who had given their lives to protect the motherland.
