Mohammad Haris joins Guyana Amazon Warriors for CPL 2026

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris is set to return to the Guyana Amazon Warriors, joining the CPL 2026 table-toppers as a replacement for Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz.

The move gives Haris another opportunity to make his mark in Caribbean cricket, while Guyana have been forced to reshape their squad as several international players leave the tournament for national-team commitments.

Gurbaz is scheduled to link up with Afghanistan for the team’s upcoming three-match T20I series against India, beginning on September 13. His departure comes after a productive CPL campaign in which he provided Guyana with plenty of firepower at the top of the order.

The Afghanistan opener scored 93 runs in two innings, including a 54 off 35 balls against Jamaica Kingsmen and 39 off 25 against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. His aggressive starts have been an important part of Guyana’s unbeaten run.

Haris, meanwhile, is already familiar with the Amazon Warriors environment. He represented the franchise during the Global Super League earlier this year, gaining valuable experience alongside several members of the Guyana squad. He will now return to the Caribbean for the remainder of the CPL campaign.

The Pakistan batter has also shown glimpses of his attacking ability during his recent appearances for Guyana. During the Global Super League, he struck 30 off 22 balls against the San Francisco Unicorns and 34 off 28 against Lahore Qalandars.

Guyana’s squad will also welcome Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who has been signed as a replacement for Afghanistan veteran Mohammad Nabi.

Nabi has been one of the standout performers of Guyana’s remarkable campaign. He leaves the CPL as the leading wicket-taker among spinners, with 12 wickets in six innings at an economy rate below six.

For Miraz, the move represents a long-awaited CPL opportunity. He was previously selected by Trinbago Knight Riders in 2017 but never appeared in a match. The Bangladesh all-rounder has now travelled to Guyana hoping to finally make his CPL debut.

The changes come at a crucial stage for Guyana. The Amazon Warriors have been among the tournament’s most impressive sides, maintaining a perfect start and securing their place in the playoffs after six consecutive victories.

With Haris bringing explosive batting and wicketkeeping options, and Miraz adding valuable all-round skills, Guyana will hope their new recruits can keep the momentum going as the CPL 2026 race enters its decisive phase.
