236 complaints heard at Faisalabad open court

FAISALABAD: An open court was organized under the open door policy at the Municipal Corporation Hall to provide direct relief to the people, take effective action against corruption and reduce the gap between citizens and the administration.

In the open court, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Noman Siddique, City Police Officer Tanveer Hussain and Director Anti-Corruption Khalid Masood Farooq listened to the requests of the citizens and directly reviewed their problems and complaints.

A total of 236 requests were submitted by the citizens during the open court.

Additional Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, Police, Municipal Corporation, District Council, Shatra Punjab, WASA, Colleges, PHA, FDA and other departments were also present on the occasion.

During the open court, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Noman Siddique said that as per the instructions of the Punjab government, providing relief to the citizens at their doorsteps and timely resolution of their problems is among the top priorities of the district administration. The purpose of the open court is to provide citizens with direct access to officers and provide an effective forum for redressal of their grievances. He directed the concerned officers to ensure that the petitions received in the open court are processed on merit, transparently and within the stipulated time frame and the citizens are also informed about the progress made on their petitions. He clarified that negligence or unnecessary delay in resolving public issues will not be tolerated.

City Police Officer Tanveer Hussain also heard the petitions and complaints submitted by the citizens regarding the police and issued instructions to the concerned police officers to take action as per the law and provide relief to the citizens.

He said that the provision of justice to the citizens, the rule of law and timely redressal of their grievances are the responsibility of the police.

Director Anti-Corruption Khalid Masood Farooqa also heard the petitions of the citizens regarding corruption, misuse of powers and other related matters and directed the concerned officers to ensure necessary action.

During the open court, citizens presented their issues related to the district administration and other concerned departments. Officers reviewed the applications on the spot and issued orders for their resolution.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Noman Siddique said that the district administration is utilizing all available resources to redress public grievances and direct access of citizens is being made more effective under the open door policy. He said that direct contact between the public and the administration helps in the immediate resolution of problems. He added that the applications received from the citizens will be monitored so that no application is left to suffer unnecessary delay.
