Mudassar Nazar slams PCB decisions, says Pakistan cricket is hurting

Former Pakistan Test cricketer Mudassar Nazar has strongly criticised the Pakistan Cricket Board’s recent decisions, saying the frequent changes have become painful for fans and damaging to the image of Pakistani cricket.

Commenting on the PCB’s handling of the national team, Nazar said the situation had gone beyond disappointment after Pakistan’s defeats. He argued that the number of changes made during an away series was difficult to understand.

“People were already laughing after the defeats, but now it has gone too far,” Nazar said, expressing his disappointment over the latest developments.

He questioned why so many changes were being made during an away series when such sweeping alterations are rarely seen even during home series.

Nazar also suggested that the team already had several replacement players available who could have been given opportunities instead of making major changes to the squad.

He specifically mentioned Ghazi Ghori, Owais Zafar, Aamer Jamal, Sajid Khan and Ubaid Shah as players who could have been considered.

According to Nazar, if another bowling option was required, the selectors could also have brought in Mir Hamza, who was playing county cricket at the time.

He further questioned the decision to part ways with former Pakistan bowling coach Umar Gul, particularly when he believed the bowling unit had been performing well.

Nazar said the series of decisions had raised serious questions about the direction of Pakistan cricket and asked what message the board was trying to send through such moves.

His comments come amid growing scrutiny of the PCB following major changes to Pakistan’s Test setup and the release of several senior players from the England tour.
