ISLAMABAD: Mushaal Mullick, wife of Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, staged a sit-in outside the children’s ward of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Thursday.
Speaking during the protest, Mushaal Mullick said the entire country was mourning the loss of newborn babies in the PIMS tragedy.
She said she and her daughter were not being allowed to enter the ward.
Mushaal Mullick alleged that her father had also been given the wrong medication at PIMS in 2005.
She said the incident reflected serious human negligence and held the government responsible for the tragedy.
“This is the result of human negligence,” she said, calling for those responsible to be held accountable.
Mushaal Mullick also demanded the immediate resignation of the health minister.
She said the authorities must take serious action over the incident and ensure that such a tragedy does not happen again.
