Nation remembers Quaid-e-Azam, Sindh leaders pay tribute at Mazar-e-Quaid

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Nihal Hashmi and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah visited Mazar-e-Quaid on Thursday to pay tribute to the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, on his death anniversary.

The governor and chief minister laid floral wreaths at the mausoleum and offered Fateha for the departed leader. Provincial ministers, advisers, special assistants and the Additional Inspector General of Police were also present on the occasion.

Representatives of Pakistan’s three armed forces also visited Mazar-e-Quaid, laid floral wreaths and offered Fateha in honour of the founder of the country.

Speaking to the media, Governor Nihal Hashmi said the delegation had gathered to pay tribute to Quaid-e-Azam for his extraordinary services to Pakistan. He said Jinnah devoted his time, comfort and personal interests to the establishment and strengthening of the country.

The governor said Quaid-e-Azam had provided the nation with guiding principles that should continue to shape Pakistan’s future. He called for efforts to keep the country united and make Pakistan an example for the world by strengthening its constitutional and democratic institutions.

Hashmi also said peaceful protest was a fundamental right, but stressed that protesters should consider its impact on patients, ordinary citizens and students when demonstrations disrupt their daily lives. He added that the government was also committed to ensuring public facilities while acknowledging the impact of prevailing global circumstances.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said the dream envisioned by Allama Iqbal had ultimately materialised with the creation of Pakistan. He prayed that Allah Almighty would keep the country united and prosperous forever.

The ceremonies at Mazar-e-Quaid reflected the nation’s continued commitment to remembering Quaid-e-Azam’s legacy and his vision for Pakistan.
