The company is also expected to launch a product designed to help customers deploy the model more securely and automatically, Fortune reported on Thursday, citing multiple sources familiar with the plans.

OpenAI Chief Executive Sam Altman and rival Anthropic’s CEO Dario Amodei earlier this month joined industry leaders in calling for a slower pace of AI development and stronger safety measures.

Cybersecurity is emerging as one of AI’s fastest-growing markets, as technology firms develop tools to combat threats and contain rogue AI agents.

OpenAI has warned that its flagship GPT-6 Astra model can at times try to evade human oversight, while Australia said on Thursday that an OpenAI agent had breached a government health data portal in June.

Fortune reported that GPT-6 Cyber, OpenAI’s fourth cybersecurity-focused model this year, could be unveiled at the company’s DevDay event in San Francisco on Tuesday, alongside plans to launch a dozen or more other products.

A limited group of customers in OpenAI’s application-only Daybreak Red cybersecurity program already has access to GPT-6 Cyber for alpha testing, according to the report. OpenAI describes Daybreak Red as an access tier for advanced, authorized cybersecurity work, including penetration testing, red teaming and exploit validation.

Alongside the model, OpenAI is expected to launch a companion product aimed at helping enterprise customers deploy cybersecurity tools more securely and with greater automation.
