Pakistan has signed the agreement to establish the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization, reaffirming its commitment to international collaboration in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence.

The agreement was signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar during a formal ceremony held in Shanghai. The signing marks Pakistan’s participation in a new global platform aimed at promoting cooperation among countries on the development, governance and responsible use of artificial intelligence.

Speaking at the event, Dar said Pakistan is committed to reducing the global digital and artificial intelligence divide. He stressed that equal access to AI technologies is essential for ensuring that all countries, particularly developing nations, can benefit from technological progress.

The deputy prime minister said Pakistan is looking forward to working closely with other member states to promote fair, inclusive and responsible use of artificial intelligence. He noted that stronger international cooperation would help countries share knowledge, develop common standards and expand opportunities for innovation.

Dar said Pakistan believes artificial intelligence can play a vital role in promoting shared prosperity, sustainable economic growth and technological advancement. He added that the country is prepared to contribute actively to the organization’s objectives and support initiatives that encourage equitable access to AI technologies.

He further said Pakistan will continue to cooperate with partner countries to advance the organization’s mission and strengthen global collaboration in artificial intelligence. According to Dar, joint efforts will help maximize the benefits of AI while ensuring that technological progress is accessible to all.
