 Pakistan has sent 100 tons of relief supplies to flood-affected people in Nepal as part of its humanitarian assistance to communities facing the aftermath of severe flooding.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has sent 100 tons of relief supplies to flood-affected people in Nepal as part of its humanitarian assistance to communities facing the aftermath of severe flooding.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) dispatched the relief consignment from Islamabad to Kathmandu aboard a chartered aircraft. The shipment contains essential items intended to provide immediate support to people affected by the floods and help meet their basic needs during the difficult period.

According to the NDMA a special ceremony was held at Islamabad International Airport to mark the departure of the relief supplies for Nepal. Senior government officials and representatives from several organizations attended the event.

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik were among the prominent participants at the ceremony.

The Ambassador of Nepal to Pakistan also attended the event, along with senior officials from the NDMA, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and welfare organizations.

The 100-ton relief shipment includes a range of essential humanitarian supplies. These include tents, blankets, mats, hygiene kits and medicines which are expected to assist families who have been affected by flooding and may be facing difficult living conditions.

The supplies are aimed at providing immediate relief to flood victims, particularly those who may have lost access to basic necessities because of damage caused by the disaster.

Speaking at the ceremony, Federal Minister Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said Pakistan stands with Nepal and its flood-affected population during this challenging time. He emphasized Pakistan’s solidarity with the people of Nepal and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to supporting those affected by natural disasters.

The dispatch of the relief goods reflects Pakistan’s humanitarian response to the situation in Nepal and its willingness to extend assistance during times of crisis.

Natural disasters such as floods can cause extensive damage to homes, infrastructure and essential services, leaving affected communities in urgent need of food, shelter, medicines and other basic supplies. Relief items such as tents and blankets can provide temporary shelter and protection while hygiene kits and medicines can help address immediate health and sanitation needs.

The relief operation also highlights cooperation between Pakistan’s disaster management authorities, government institutions diplomatic representatives and welfare organizations.

With the 100-ton consignment now on its way from Islamabad to Kathmandu, Pakistan has reaffirmed its support for Nepal and its flood-affected communities. The humanitarian assistance is intended to help provide essential relief and demonstrate solidarity with the people of Nepal during this difficult period.
