Punjab govt bans 8 female stage artists for one month over “vulgar performances”

_Information & Culture Department cites monitoring reports, orders strict compliance_  

*The *Punjab Government* has imposed a *one-month ban* on eight female stage artists across the province for allegedly performing *vulgar, obscene and indecent dances* during theater plays.

According to an official notification issued by the *Information & Culture Department* on *24th August, 2026*, the action was taken upon receipt of a monitoring report from *PUCAR* under SOPs and a notification dated *13.08.2025*.

*Who Has Been Banned*

The following artists have been prohibited from performing dramatic/theatrical activities throughout Punjab with immediate effect for *01 month*:

1. *Ms. Maahi Rajpoot*

2. *Ms. Hina Sheikh*

3. *Ms. Malaika Shahzadi*

4. *Ms. Madiha Khan*

5. *Ms. Mehak Noor*

6. *Ms. Mano Multani*

7. *Ms. Raima Mehar*

8. *Ms. Husna Jutt*

The order states the ban was imposed due to *“vulgar, obscene and indecent dance performances / inappropriate gestures exhibited during stage dramas at different theatres in Punjab.”*

*Strict Compliance Ordered*

The department has directed all concerned authorities to *ensure strict implementation* of the order. It warned that *any violation will be dealt with in accordance with relevant law and rules*.

The Information & Culture Department said that monitoring of stage dramas in theaters across Punjab is being carried out regularly to prevent objectionable content and indecent acts.

The notification was signed by the *Secretary, Information & Culture Department*.

This is part of the provincial government’s ongoing efforts to regulate stage performances and enforce standards of decency in public entertainment.
