The minister inspected various departments of the hospital to assess healthcare services, staff attendance, and overall administrative performance. During the visit, he expressed dissatisfaction with the hospital’s management and emphasized that negligence in public healthcare institutions would not be tolerated.

One of the key decisions made during the inspection was the suspension of the Medical Superintendent, whom the minister held responsible for the reported administrative failures. The action reflects the Punjab government’s ongoing efforts to improve healthcare standards and ensure accountability within public hospitals.

Khawaja Imran Nazir also addressed the issue of delayed salaries for sanitation workers. He ordered the immediate release of wages that had reportedly remained unpaid for the past three months. The minister stressed that frontline workers play a vital role in maintaining hygiene and patient safety, and their salaries should never be delayed.

During the inspection, the minister noticed that air conditioners were operating in offices despite the absence of officials and staff. He criticized the unnecessary use of electricity, calling it a waste of public resources. At the same time, he observed that the hospital’s drug storage room lacked proper cooling facilities, which are essential for preserving medicines under recommended conditions.

To address this issue, the minister directed hospital authorities to install an air conditioning unit in the drug storage room immediately. He emphasized that maintaining the proper storage environment for medicines is critical to ensuring their quality, effectiveness, and patient safety.

The surprise visit is part of the Punjab government’s broader initiative to monitor the performance of public healthcare facilities across the province. Officials have been instructed to improve service delivery, maintain discipline among staff, and ensure that hospitals provide quality medical care to the public.

Healthcare experts have often highlighted that regular inspections and accountability measures can help improve hospital management, enhance patient satisfaction, and strengthen confidence in public health institutions.
