LAHORE: Young graduates across Punjab have an opportunity to gain professional experience and earn a monthly stipend of Rs50,000 under the Chief Minister IT Internship Program (CMITIP), launched by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).
The initiative offers more than 4,000 paid internships across the province, aiming to help fresh graduates strengthen their technical skills, gain practical industry experience and improve their chances of securing jobs in Pakistan’s growing information technology sector.
With a four-month duration and placements spanning more than 40 professional domains, the programme is designed to bridge the gap between academic education and the practical requirements of the job market.
Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of Rs50,000, subject to monthly performance and verification of their degrees through the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Over the four-month period, eligible interns could receive a total of Rs200,000, provided they meet the programme’s requirements throughout the internship.
The initiative covers a wide range of technology-related fields, including web development, software development, artificial intelligence, mobile application development, quality assurance and digital marketing. The broad selection of disciplines is intended to provide opportunities to graduates with different technical backgrounds and career interests.
As demand for digital skills continues to grow, the programme could offer young professionals a valuable opportunity to develop workplace skills, build their portfolios and gain exposure to professional working environments.
However, applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements to qualify for the internships. Candidates must hold a degree in information technology, computer science or a relevant discipline completed within the last four years. They must also possess a valid Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) and have a Punjab domicile.
Applicants are advised to ensure that their educational documents meet the required verification standards before applying, as degree verification and monthly performance are linked to the stipend.
